Excelsior announces pension to Sodhi’s family
Staff hails decision

The staff of the Daily Excelsior today greatly appreciated the decision of S D Rohmetra, owner and editor-in-chief of the newspaper to make a monthly payment of Rs 10,000 to the wife of Ashok Sodhi for the rest of her life.
At a meeting held in the office premises, the staff unanimously hailed the gesture as decent, moving, admirable and unprecedented.
The meeting was presided over by Sanjeev Pargal, Chief of Bureau, Jammu.
It expressed the hope that the decision would serve as a model for other newspaper establishments in the country especially in the States affected by terrorist and naxalite violence.
Ashok Sodhi has worked with the newspaper for more than quarter of a century.
The meeting expressed this gratitude towards Rohmetra for having taken a path breaking decision in the best interest of journalism.
