To mark the occasion of the Birthday celebration of Sri Sri Ravi Shanker in the city of temples, the volunteers or Art of Living organized various programmes here today
As per a press release, at Kalika Colony, books were distributed among slum children and sponsorship for education to five children were announced.
At Akhnoor, the activities being carried out by he AOL volunteers include distribution of blankets and hosted lunch for the people living at Param Parshad Ashram.
A Chabeel at Indira Chowk and Jewel Chowk in Jammu were also organized.
Later in the evening a fusion concert for peace was organized at Abhinav Theatre where hundreds of devotees enjoyed and participated. Saked Kakkar, a trained Hindustani classical singer known for his melodious voice along with Sanjeev Pradhan performed.
Swani Ji of Purani Mndi Temple and B.S Manhas, former director, Citizen Co-operative bank were the chief guests, while Bharti Vaid, Director General, PIB was the guest of honour.
The programme started with the lightening of the traditional camp followed by the Bhajans sung by the artists which mesmerized the audience presents there. |
