| JKNDF to fight coming state assembly elections | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 13 While welcoming the rehabilitation package by the centre government, the Jammu and Kashmir National Democratic Front (JKNDF) has demanded that the package in consonance with candidates’ qualifications and merit be implemented immediately. Addressing a press conference here today the national convenor R.K. Mattoo and working president A.K Dewani of JKNDF said steps should be taken to ensure political and economic rights of the community. They said national executives of front in the meeting have decided to fight next assembly elections and have short listed the names of candidates for various constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir valley respectively. They also demanded the enhancement of cash relief in view of price hike of essential commodities, beside to take immediate measures to redress the long pending demands of those living outside the camps. Leaders of the front also demanded issuance of photo identity voter cards for all the displaced people. During the conference leaders of the front appealed literary influential and opinion makers of the community to strengthen the front. Other present in the conference were P L Razdan, Vijay Chiken, R K Sehgal, Amit Kaul and Rajdulari Tiku. |
