INSAF Foundation to fight for minorities rights
State Unit formed, Pardhan nominated President

To fight for the rights of the minorities, INSAF Foundation today held a state level convention at Zorawar Singh Auditorium of University of Jammu here today which was presided over by CPI Member Rajya Sabha Syed Azeez Pasha and also formed a state level unit.
Inaugurating the convention, CPI National Council Secretary and Editor ‘New Age’, Shameem Fiazee said that Insaf formed in various states has a three pronged strategy. He said the organization is working to make the minorities aware of their rights besides highlighting the socio economic problems faced by the minorities.
Stressing the need to recognize Muslims and Christian Dalits as Scheduled Caste, Faizee said that there should be no religion based discrimination in recognizing STs and demanded immediate relief to Gujjars and Bakerwals.
Moulena Ansar Raza who also spoke the convention called for unity of minorities and oppressed people. D K Rampal alleged that despite 60 years of independence, the rulers have failed to deliver economic justice and said that minorities have been discriminated in the matter of employment and economic benefits.
In his presidential addresss, Azaz Pasha MP assured all assistance and help in promoting the cause of Insaf. He said the plight of Muslims portrayed in Sachar report has exposed the hollowness of the propaganda of ‘Muslim appeasement’ and demanded concrete developmental measures to redress the grievances of Muslim minority.
Jyotsana Raina, Ashwani Pradshan, Kanwal Dev, Prof J R Panda and Reyaz Atish also addressed the convention.
On this occasion the Jammu and Kashmir State Unit of the Insaf was also formed with Ashwani Pardhan as its President and A R Tickroo and Dr R L Bhagat as vice Presidents. Ch.Idress Tabassum was appointed as General Secretary. Com Mohammed Gafoor Dar and Parveen Kesar as Advisors. Ghulam Hassan Wani was appointed Joint secretary, Abdul Hamid Bhat Secretary Kashmir and Mohammed Asadullah as Secretary Jammu. Ram Sharan was nominated as Organizing secretary, Dr Vimal Manhas as publicity secretary and Nirmal Rattan as Treasurer.
The executive members of the committee nominated included Riyaz Atish, Suresh Azad, Abdul Majeed Bichoo, Amarjeet Kour, G M Chowhan, Daleep Bhati and Parveen Akhtar.
A similar convention is being organized at Srinagar on June 21, a party handout said.
