| Aero model display held | | |
Udhampur 30 Aug An innovative aeromodel competition and display was organised by the North Star Air Defence Brigade on 30 Aug 06 at Air Force Station Udhampur. Lt Gen Rajender Singh, SM, VSM, Chief of Staff, Headquarters Northern Command was the chief guest. Gp Capt G Amar Babu, VM was also a guest of honour. A total of six teams participated in the competition. Aeromodels of 26 cc, 22 cc and 7.5 cc were flown during the aerobatics display. These aeromodels are presently used in the Army Air Defence to simulate enemy aircraft during firing practice of their guns. The aerobatics display which included difficult manoeuvres like ‘Fig of 8’ and ‘Double Loop’ was much appreciated by the audience. After the display, the General Officer complemented Brig Rakesh Nijhawan, Commander of the Air Defence Brigade and his team for achieving professional excellence in aeromodel flying.
