| Jagga gets relief from HC | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 13 The former Deputy Superintendent of Police Jagjeet Singh who was expelled from the National Conference on charges of indiscipline and was facing arrest have got reprieve from the High Court. Justice Sunil Hali of Jammu and Kashmir High Court in a bail petition filed by Jagjit Singh alias Jagga former DySP and suspended NC leader, has issued notice returnable within one week and in the meanwhile ordered that petitioner shall not be arrested and directed the registry to list the case on May 26, 2008. It is worthwhile to mention here on April 30, 2008 there was a quarrel between two groups of NC in which police registered counter FIRs, in the FIR 109/2008 registered with P/S Domana u/s 307/34 RPC and 4/27 Arms Act, Mr. Jagjit Singh alias Jagga filed application before the Court below for grant of anticipatory bail which was rejected by the 2nd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu on May 9, 2008. The petitioner filed bail petition before the High Court, High Court today ordered that in the meanwhile petitioner be not arrested. |
