Jammu | May 14
A delegation of leaders of the state unit of the BJP,led by party President,Ashok Khajuria, today visited the house of Ashok Sodhi, photojornalist, who was kiled durin g an encounter between the security forces and militants at Kaili Mandi in
Samba on Monday, along with Mayor of Jammu Municpal Corporation, Kavinder Gupta, the BJP leaders expressed their grief over the loss of a competent photo
journalist. They conveyed their sympathies to the bereaved family members of Sodi.
Later talking to newsmen Ashok Khajuria said that as a result of wrong policies of the Congress led UPA Government in the centre and on account of inherent contradictions within the ruling coalition in Jammu and Kashmir militancy has got a new lease of life in
the state. He said that the level of infiltration from across the border had increased in recent weeks and the central Government had yet to adopt a definite policy on containing terrorist violence not only in Jammu and Kashmir but in the rest of the country. Referring to the srial bomb blasts in Jaipur on Tuesday in which 60 people were killed and 200 others wounded,Khajuria said that the centre was responsible for such heinous crimes because it had not mounted any offensive against terrorists operating in various
parts of the state.
The BJP Chief wanted either the Azad led Government to resign or let the Governor dismiss the Government under section 92 of the state constitution. He said day
to day demand of the PDP for demilitarisation and the Government's commitment to have zero tolerance against human rights violations had not only demoralised the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir but also made them prefer a go slow operations against militants. He feared that if corrective measures were not taken in hand immediately the security scenario in the state would assume alarming dimensions and that too when the
annual Amarnath Yatra was to begin from the middle of the next month and the elections were due in October. He said that let there be a spell of Governor's rule so that the next elections were held under the central rule which could ensure incident free and fair polling.
