| JKNPP files petition seeking quashment of constables’ selection | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May14 State President J&K National Panther Party Bansi Lal Sharma today field a petition in the High Court in the larger interest of people belonging to far-flung areas of Jammu seeking quashment of appointment/selection of constables which have been made at the behest of Chief Minister. In the petition it has been alleged that recruitment drive has been initiated at the behest of the Chief Minister for recruiting police constables on pick and choose basis purely on political consideration and that too without issuing any public notice. It has been further alleged in the petition that on May 5, 2008 a State Helicopter landed in Machadi Malhar and Dugan villages of District Kathua on the direction of Chief Minister with the sole object to recruit police constables belonging to the said villages without adopting any due process of law and without issuing any public notice purely on pick and choose basis in order to drive political mileage. It was alleged that said team recruit more than 100 persons and also on May 6, 2008 the same team visited Mahu Mangal of District Doda and made selection of police constables and seeking quashment of the said selection made without adopting legal procedure.
