Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 14 To commemorate the 151st anniversary of India’s first Ware of Independence, Adbi Kunj held a function at its literary centre Talab Tillo, which was attended by a large number of literary figures. The function was presided over by Anand Lehar, eminent of Urdu novelist and the programme was conducted by Talib Kashmirir and Rinkel Kambhoj from Ferozepur, Punjab was the Guest of Honour, on the occasion. Sham Talib paid glowing tributes to the heroes of India’s first War of Independence. Others who recalled the supreme sacrifice of the martyr’s in the country’s freedom struggle were Talib Kashmiri, Com. Jaswant Singh, Nargis Sitara, Zeenat Firdous and Prof. Rinkel Kamboj. A condolence resolution was also adopted over the killing of Ashok Sohdi, Photo Journalist, while performing his professional duties. Two minute silence was observed for the peace of departed soul. In the poetic session various poets presented their creative works which mostly comprised of patriotic songs and poems. These included Ayodhaya Rani Gamkhwar, Raj Saigal, Susheel Begana, Talib Kashmiri, Chand Deepika, Swaranjeet Kour, Nargis Sitara, Rajeshwar Bhakri, Deepak Aarsi, K.K. Shakir, Deedar Singh, Jagdish Vaid, O.P. Bhurai, Romesh Rahi, Mangal Dass Dogra, Chander Ved Prakash, Harjeet Singh, Kulwinder Meet, Chander Bhaw, Rajeev Kumar, Raj Pal Singh Mastana and Sham Talib. |
