| Mentally challenged woman raped, one arrested | | | Early Times Reporter

Jammu and Kashmir police arrested a youth for allegedly outraging modesty of a mentally challenged woman in border district of Poonch, this morning.
As per the sources the accused, identified as Gurdev Singh son of Ram Singh of Poonch, was arrested by a police team red handed when he was outraging the modesty of a middle aged woman in the outskirts of Poonch town.
Station House Officer (SHO) Poonch NH Shah told that police received information that one person has taken a mentally retarded woman on the outskirts of the town.
Based on the information a police team led by Shah raided an isolated place and arrested the youth red handed.
The SHO said that accused was outraging the modesty of the woman against her wishes and accused was arrested red handed by the police team.
He said that Gurdev Singh was immediately taken into custody and booked under Section 376 RPC for rape. The woman, after medical examination, was handed over to her family. |
