| Bhalla releases 5 lakh for purchase of ambulance | | Gupta donates Split AC for hospital ward | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 14 A meeting of Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS), Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar, an NGO to improve the functioning of government hospitals under National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) was convened here today under the chairmanship of MLA Gandhi Nagar Raman Bhalla. The Secretary Member of Rogi Kalyan Samiti, Medical Superintendent, Gandhi Nagar Hospital, Bhagat gave detail resume of the activities going on in the hospital and the measures to be taken that included strengthening of emergency services by creating resuscitation unit, C.T. Scan, Ultrasonography and minor operation theatre, augmentation of existing power supply system by creating a new supply line (Hot Line) with separate power back up by mean of generator sets, out sourcing of sanitation services through NGO or private contractor, review the progress of the under construction new OPD block with respect to its taking over of possession as well as its effective utilization, installation of intercom services across the hospital, proper arrangement of security of hospital equipment as well as staff by engaging private organization for providing security round the clock, provision of round the clock Fair Price Shop/ medical services as well as canteen services for patients and staff, installation/ establishment of a coffee counter by means of out sources, review of existing diagnostic services, establish OPD/ emergency/ registration counter round the clock 24 hours a day for full week, procurement of new ambulance for emergency, and constitute a committee of experts to finalize the planning process for the proposed IPD block including ICU and Operation theatre complex, etc. Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla agreed to provide Rs. 5 lakh from his Constituency Development Fund for purchase of ambulance. He said that other issues like un-interrupted power supply and adequate water will be taken up with the concerned quarters for early redressal. He said the government is committed to provide basic amenities to the common man at his door steps by making concrete efforts and ensure that the people do not face any inconvenience. He said that during the short span of present government, unprecedented developmental activities have been recorded throughout the state to the utter satisfaction of the inhabitants. Moreover, the neglected and ignored areas have been accorded priority in matter of providing essential services like road connectivity, educational infrastructure, water and electricity besides medicare facilities, he added. On the occasion, corporator and member of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti, Bansi Lal Gupta donated split AC for one ward of Gandhi Nagar Hospital. Among others Medical Superintendent, GMC, Executive Engineer, PHE, PDD, Deputy Director Information, Jammu Dara Singh Kotwal and other members of the Samiti attended the meeting. |
