| 11-member delegation on four-day Pakistan visit | | |
Srinagar, Aug 30: A delegation comprising politicians and intellectuals from Jammu and Kashmir is leaving for Pakistan today in a bid to further cement ties between the two parts of the state.
The four-day visit of the 11-member delegation has been sponsored by the Centre for Dialogue and Reconciliation, a think-tank, the sources said.
The team members will visit Lahore and Islamabad besides Muzaffarabad and Mirpur in Pakistan occupied Kashmir and interact with political leaders and intellectuals of that part of the divided state. They are also expected to meet top politicians and intellectuals of Pakistan.
The delegation consists of PDP leader Nizamuddin Bhat, National Conference's Abdul Rahim rather, advocate Zaffar Shah, two senior journalists Mohammad Sayeed Malik and Vaid Bhasin, Chief Executives of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council for Leh and Kargil, Vice-Chancellor of Jammu University Ambitab Mattoo, Vice-Chancellor of Islamic University Sadiq Wahid and physician Altaf Ahmed.
The members will leave later in the day for New Delhi, where they will be joined by a renowned journalist. |
