Committee to review PDP’s poll agenda
Dual currency, joint management likely to append the list

The political affairs committee of the Peoples’ Democratic Party is expected to review and discuss poll agenda of the party before starting working on the poll manifesto of the party ahead of 2008 polls.
Issue of self-rule, poll alliance with congress in 2008 polls , dual currency and joint management besides demilitarization and growing human rights abuses are also expected to figure during the talks.
After the departure of former PDP minister and senior founding member Ghulam Hassan Mir the political affairs committee will be meeting for the first time with no voices of dissent emerging from within the party.Though large number of party leaders and trusted workers have jumped the ship yet PDP leadership is not showing signs of desperation and clinging on to hope of better performance during the polls.
The Political affairs committee is the highest body and is expected to articulate party’s clear cut stand on several other contentious issues before starting next round of public campaign to garner more support in support of the party candidates.
Party patron and former Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed is expected to chair the meeting
The other members of the PAC are Ms Mehbooba Mufti, Muzaffar Hussain Baig, Abdul Aziz Zargar, Tariq Hameed Karra, Moulvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari, Sardar Rangil Singh, Qazi Mohammad Afzal, Mohammad Dillawar Mir, Ved Mahajan, Master Tassaduq Hussain, Sardar T S Bajwa and Nissar Ahmad Khan.
A set of political resolutions are also expected to be adopted by the party. During the PAC meeting partyPatronMufti Mohd Sayeed is expected to discuss the issue of desertions ahead of assembly polls with the senior party colleagues.PDP vadre is under intense pressure as large number of leaders have left the party to join political adversaries National conference.In comparison lesser number of people have joined PDP after leaving the parent party,sources said.
