| Sariya, a tiny hamlet on LoC, gets IT Lab | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 15 The wave of information technology has swept the globe and the past decade has witnessed this virtual interface crisscrossing the continents with an unmatched speed and vigour. The tiny toddlers of today’s generation have started familiarizing themselves with this new technology, much before than they can blabber monosyllables. The youth armed with various degrees of this profession wade their way through the sea of job seekers and come out with flying colours. Undoubtedly, this field is the beckoning of the future. Sariya, a non descript village on the line of control in Naushera tehsil was a sleeping hamlet, unaware of the happenings around the world. All this is about to change courtesy Army and their endevour to change the life of common man through ‘Op Sadbhvna’. DAH Division had identified IT empowerment as one of the key areas and set out to explore opportunities for the same, through ‘Op Sadbhavana’. The efforts have resulted in creation of IT lab, bang on the line of control in village Sariya. The lab has been constructed next to government secondary school to facilitate children to use this facility. It is well equipped to impart basic training in various facets of IT. This lab would impart training to children of schools at Sariya, Jhangar, Ser, Bhawani and any other volunteers. The project was dedicated to Naushera Tehsil by Dah Division, in presence of ZEO Naushera tehsil, Capt (Retd) Moti Ram, President of ex servicemen league Naushera and other prominent civil dignitaries. Assistance by army unit DASHMESH Battalion, stationed in the area assured to all youth in the region. The road from Sariya to Indian IT hub ‘Bangalore’ is yet far and distant, but path breaking step has been taken by the army deployed in the area. |
