JAMMU, AUGUST 30- A joint team of Legal Metrology Department Jammu headed by Assistant Controller, Legal Metrology Mr M. A Mughal inspected different establishments at Gangyal, Satwari, Khandwal Mandal, Nai Basti, Sarore and Tarore.
During the course of inspection at above said places several traders including flour mills, mustard oil mills, cement factory, pressure cooker industry, wine bars, gas agency, rice shellers, halwais and provision stores were inspected and 21 traders like as cement factory, mustard oil mill, wine bar, halwai, rice shaller, petrol pumps, goldsmith and provision stores were booked under different sections and rules of J&K Weights and Measures Enf. Act 1997 an PCR 1977. Out of 21 challans and 19 challans were compounded on the spot and an amount of Rs.32000/- was collected from the defaulters as composition sum.
In addition to this 24 auto-rickshaws drivers were also booked for using unstamped/un-calibrated fare meters and an amount of Rs.4200/- was collected from the erring auto-rickshaw drivers. |
