| Anganwari workers observe mass casual leave | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 15 To press upon the state government to concede their demands of hike in salary, the Anaganwadi workers under the banner of Anganwadi Workers Welfare Association today observed mass causal leave and staged dharna in front of office of the Divisional Commissioner, here The association leaders highlighted their demand of early hike in salary of Anaganwari workers to Rs.5000 and Rs.3000 to helpers besides TA, teaching allowance in addition to the rent, constitution of grievance committees under ICDS Scheme, filling of all supervisor posts as per seniority list, fuel charges of Rs 300 per month, amendment of obsolete rules. Swarana Choudhary, Association President pointed out that the governments in Uttrakhand, Gujarat and many other states have increased the honorarium paid to anganwadi workers and helpers and even the Gujarat Government has launched provident fund and ESI Schemes for the benefit of the employees. At the same time criticizing the state government, she said that from the past many years, workers are being exploited due to non-serious attitude of the government, which has badly affected the families of workers and helpers, who cannot survive with a meager honorarium. She also stressed upon the State Government to take up the genuine demands of the Anganwadi workers and helpers on priority basis so that workers could be delivered justice at the earliest. |
