| Div Com. hands over Rs 1 lakh ex-gratia to Sodhi’s family | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 15 Divisional Commissioner Jammu Mr. Sudanshu Pandey handed over Rs 1 Lakh cheque as Ex-gratia to the kin of Photo Journalist Ashok Sodhi at his residence here today. Accompanied by MLA Mr Yogesh Sawhney , Deputy Commissioner Samba Mr. Saurabh Bhagat , ex Mayor JMC Mr. Manmohan Singh, Div Com gave away Rs 1 lakh Cheque to Sodhi’s widow . The Photo Journalist Mr Ashok Sodhi was among four civilian killed during Militant attack at Kehli Mandi Samba on last Sunday. The ex-gratia of Rs 1 lakh to other three victims of the attack who were all residents of Samba has already been given. Likewise, the district administration Samba has also distributed Rs 5000 among those injured in the attack while the treatment would be free of cost. The expenditure of medicine would be born by District Red Cross Society Samba. Similarly, a team of revenue officials has assessed the extent of damage caused to eight houses during the encounter for providing the owners with adequate relief. The assessment report has shown maximum damage to three houses and minor damages to five others. As the relief for the damages was yet to be decided, the owners have been given immediate relief out of Red Cross Fund which include Rs ten thousand for maximum damage and Rs five thousand for the minor damages. Besides families whose houses were damaged have been given free ration for six months. The families who lost their kin in the attack would also be given relief under National Foundation for Communal Harmony scheme, Integrated Social Security Scheme and assistance provided by the Council for Rehabilitation of Militancy Victims. |
