| Insurance employees hold rally against price hike | | | Early Times Reporter
Jammu | May 15
A massive demonstration was held against price rice in front of LIC office Karan Bhavan by General Insurance Employees Union and North Zone Insurance Employees Association under the leadership of Daleep Koul and Pawan Gupta.
Speaking on the occasion, they said that the root cause of the inflation in the county is the anti people economic policies of the central govt that are leading to widening inequality between rich and poor and added benefit of GDP growth is being diverted to rich people and poor people are not even being able to fill their empty stomachs.
The prices of eatables and essential commodities have gone so high and central govt is not being able to check price rise. Dearness allowance the employees are paid is far low when we compare it to the actual increase in retail price, they said.
Rajesh Gupta, S.K Bhat, Raj Kumar also spoke on the occasion. Demonstrations were held in front of all the insurance offices of Jammu and Kashmir. In Srinagar the demonstration was lead by A M Tantray, President NZIEA while at DO Cell Jammu it was lead by Ramesh Chand and Dinesh Sharma, at Kathua by Khushi Ram, at Samba by Chaman Lal at R S Pura by Prem at Udhampur by Rajinder Singh and at Rajouri by Khaliq. |
