| Terror incidents not in milieu with peace process: Azad | | ‘Says state witnessed massive infrastructure development in last 3 years’ | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 17 Terror attacks in Samba district and Jaipur are a matter of concern as these incidents do not go down well with the friendly relations between India and Pakistan, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has said. Cautioning against people hampering "lasting friendship between India and Pakistan", Azad said during a series of public meetings in Poonch district, "it seems that there are still some elements across the border who want to disturb peaceful atmosphere in our country." "With initiation of peace and dialogue process between India and Pakistan, there has been peace on the borders. But incidents like Samba and Jaipur are a matter of concern for us as they do not go well with the friendly relations between the two neighbouring countries", he said. The Chief Minister, who addressed meetings at Seri Khawaja, Gali Pindi and Khari, complimented Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi for taking the "historic initiative of dialogue" with Pakistan resulting in easing of tension in bilateral relations. Azad said the families divided by borders, suffering hardships for nearly six decades, heaved a sigh of relief after the commencement of Srinagar-Muzaffarabad and Poonch-Rawalakot bus services. The peace process between the two countries has also resulted in peace on the borders, he added. The Chief Minister said due to the change in scenario, the state has also witnessed massive infrastructure development during the past three years. Azad attributed the improved basic amenities including better roads and bridges connectivity, power and drinking water supply in the remotest areas of the state to the "untiring efforts of the central and state governments".
