| Cooperative Deptt organizes awareness camp | | |
KATHUA, AUGUST 30- One day awareness camp was organized by Cooperative Department, Kathua at village Bhajwal under the chairmanship of Board Director CMS Kathua Ch Chagar Singh. More than 100 cooperators farmers, members of cooperative societies participated. The chairman of Bhajwal MPCS gave the brief resume of the activities by the Bhajwal MPCS and apprised the officers about the problems being faced by them.
Deputy Registrar Agriculture Kathua threw light on the schemes approved by the department for organizing of new cooperatives for Dairy/Poultry Floriculture and sheep rearing. He appealed the un-employed educated youth to come forward to avail the financial assistance by organizing cooperative units from ICDP.
Deputy Registrar Cooperatives CAD, Jammu stressed for the recovery of overdue loans from the defaulters.
General Manager ICDP, Kathua highlighted the schemes and functioning of ICDP project in the district.
Similar camp was also organized at Mandli in Tehsil Billawar of Kathua district the other day under the chairmanship of Mr. Sham Lal Soni prominent cooperator.
More than 100 cooperators/ members of management committee of block Billawar and Lohai Malhar along with supervisory staff attended the camp.

As many as 100 cooperators, farmers, panches and Sarpanches participate in the camp.
He also awared the management of the societies their rights and duties and salient features of the prevailing Jammu and Kashmir Cooperative Society Act, and rules, 1989 and J&K self Reliant Act 1999 and discussed for organizing new cooperatives as well as working of existing cooperative societies.
