| Army endeavors for quality education to J&K children | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 17
Embarking on the noble mission of ensuring good quality education to the children of the border area of Jammu and Kashmir, Army’s Knight Corps has established a Goodwill School at Rajouri. A Rs.8.9 crore ambitious project aiming at to provide quality education to the children of the State was established under Operation Sadbhavana in a record period of three years. The state government contributed in the project in terms of land and infrastructure for water supply and electricity. The School is constructed on a hill, located 3.5 km from the town of Rajouri, about 150 km from Jammu at an altitude of 3500 ft. The school has spacious academic block with all modern amenities and training aids. It is equipped with modern and well equipped labs for each subject, besides having a well researched and stocked library, music, arts and craft complex. Apart from Gymnasium with all modern work out equipments, the school has large play grounds, boys and girls hostels and residential accommodation for the staff. The School has a state-of-art, well equipped Computer Lab and Computer Science is compulsory from class VI to class X . It is also offered as an elective subject at plus two stage. The school provides excellent library and reading room facilities. The school provides ample opportunity to all the students to participate in co-curricular activities like horse riding, drawing competitions, music, social welfare activities, environmental protection programs, public speaking and debates to instill confidence, highlight talent and enhance speaking skills.
