CII conducts workshop on ‘Leadership with Passion’

A workshop on ‘Leadership with Passion’ was organized by Confederation of Indian Industry , J & K State Council here today where Devender Singh Rana, MLC was the chief guest..
At the outset Rana complimented CII for organizing today’s workshop on a very relevant theme which is in fact the need of the hour. He also complimented CII for regularly organizing training sessions / workshops aimed to horn the entrepreneur skills of Jammuites. The economy of J & K is on the upswing and in a process of regeneration. We therefore need competent leaders and entrepreneurs who are passionate about their work and committed to their organizations. He further said that Leaders are not born but can be trained and developed through such kinds of workshops which are interactive and not theoretical.
He said passion is one quality which can tilt all the odds in ones favour, however passion does not mean that you go overboard in what you do. There has to be a system of check and balance at Work. Leaders need to be passionate in pursuing their vision and must lead from the front by setting personal examples.
He further said that the participants in today’s workshop must identify themselves with the speaker to derive maximum benefit. Such focused workshops will lead to the development of passionate and sustainable leaders which Jammu so much requires.
Sanjay Puri , Chairman CII J & K State Council in his welcome address said that one of the pillars of management is “Passion at Work”. In today's scenario there is a need to understand this trait in greater details.
He further said the biggest problem being faced today by Company heads / CEOs is the fast attrition rates of the employees.
Money alone is no longer a factor which keeps an employee to an Organization. What is required is a leader who can inspire by a personal example, integrity and a passion which is clearly visible for every body to see, he added.
Today’s workshop aims to discuss what passionate leadership is all about and how will it help your organization to achieve its business strategy and goals .
The workshop was conducted by Amar Bindra, who has 33 years of hands on experience in manufacturing /environment assessment in business / automobile / defence and training .
The workshop focused on industry leaders knowing what could be the source of their passion , what could be the manifestation of their passion , what could be the implications or the consequence of their passion and how in the ultimate analysis of Leadership with Passion get an answer to the question – Passion at what cost ?
The session was attended by over 40 young leaders representing various corporate groups not only from Jammu but also from neighboring States .
