| Dy CM for developing adventure tourism | | | Early Times Reporter

Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Baig on Saturday called for developing adventure tourism along with conventional tourism in the state to attract more tourists.
"Adventure tourism, along with the conventional one, opens new vistas to attract adventure lovers from across the globe", Baig, who also holds the tourism portfolio, said while addressing members of Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) here during their ongoing golden jubilee celebrations.
"Certain adventure sports like para-gliding, rafting and rock climbing have been introduced in the state to cater to the adrenaline levels of adventure tourists", Baig added.
Speaking of government's initiatives in the direction, he said, "we have already introduced several new measures like establishment of Tourism Development Authorities in the state for the proper promotion of tourism."
He said the state is replete with mountaineering tracks and adventure enthusiasts should come and explore them.
"This will also help a great deal in generating employment avenues as well", he added.
Baig also thanked the IMF for setting up of its centre at Leh and urged them for a similar facility at Srinagar as well.
