| Minister distributes cheques among destitute | | |

Cheques worth rupees 72000 were distributed as old-age pension, widow pension and handicap assistance by the minister of state R&B, Gharu Ram at a function, organized by social welfare department here today.
Addressing the gathering, minister highlighted the achievements, made during the chief ministership of Ghulam Nabi Azad. He said Congress party is committed to raise the living standards of people, of the state, irrespective of caste, creed and religion. He said people of the state are happy with the progress and development the entire state has achieved. On the occasion, he appealed the gathering to strengthen the Congress party and vote en-mass in its favour at the time of elections.
Earlier minister inspected development on various on-going works in the area.
