| Bhim seeks Qarra’s dismissal | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 17 Bhim Singh, chairman of JKNPP in a memorandum submitted to the State governor, S K Sinha has urged to dismiss the finance minister, Tariq Hamid Qarra from the state cabinet in order to weed out the corrupt communal and secessionist elements from the government. According to a press release, the Panthers Party chief said in his memorandum that he was pained to seek such action against Qarra because the minister has crossed the limits and disciplines as a minister. Qarra’s statement that the vigilance commission (which is headed by Dr. Ashok Bhan, one of the most honest officers in the state) has been indulging in anti-Kashmiri and anti-Muslim activities is highly condemnable and smacks foul in the mind of the minister who had shady past for himself. Qarra had recently pleaded for introducing Pakistan’s currency in Jammu and Kashmir which itself is anti-national act. Qarra had taken oath of secrecy as a minister and to uphold the sovereignty and integrity of India. Therefore he cannot be allowed to issue secessionist, communal and abusive statements challenging the secular character of the state, the release added.
