| All road maps revolve around autonomy: Farooq | | | Early Times Reporter Rajouri | May 17 Former chief minister and Patron National Conference Dr Farooq Abdullah today said that central government has to restore autonomy to the state as it is the only viable solution to the Kashmir imbroglio. Addressing public meetings at Manjakote and Ghambir Muglan, on his last leg of extensive five days tour to Rajouri and Darhal Assembly constituencies, Farooq said that almost all the road maps give by some think tanks and political parties revolve around the Autonomy proposal by National Conference. "I can say this with confidence that there can not be any another viable solution to Kashmir issue than restoration of autonomy to the state of Jammu and Kashmir", he said adding, "The government of India has to accept our demand and give the people what is best for them". He alleged that some political parties with vested interest want to see Kashmir boiling and they are resorting to unfair tactics by exploiting the people of the state against Autonomy. The documented solution "Autonomy" put forth by the National Conference for satisfying the genuine urges and aspirations of the people of the state is well within the constitution of India, he added. Dr. Abdullah said National Conference is unambiguously clear for its solution of Kashmir problem and do strongly feels that Autonomy as projected by National Conference is a viable sustainable solution to the Kashmir imbroglio. However, he said National Conference has clear policy and open heart and "we are ready to accept any other solution if it is viable and acceptable to the people of J&K and is better than autonomy solution of the National Conference". He said that his party will gladly work for the successful implementation of any such proposal as the welfare of masses and betterment of the state is the top most agenda of the party. In order to satisfy the regional aspiration and urges of the people of Jammu and Kashmir for their socio-economic and political development, he said, NC is committed for restoration of autonomy in the state. Dr Abdullah said autonomy would restore the people's confidence and would help in bringing peace to the state. He said that if his party is voted to power, it will give regional autonomy to all the regions of the state. Referring to the swelling unemployment in the state, Dr. Abdullah said, it is heartening to see that the youth of the state are feeling dejected. Moreover the qualification bar for recruitment to Class IV category shall also be middle pass. Dr. Abdullah welcomed the new participants into the party fold and called upon them to work unitedly. Later Dr. Abdullah also addressed meeting of women wing workers, led by Smt. Bimla Luthra Provincial President Women Wing. He asked the women folk to be aware of their rights and National Conference has emphasized in its Naya Kashmir programme about the rights of the women.
