| Mob attacks hospital, property damaged | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 17 Irate mob today attacked on doctors at Government Hospital Sarwal alleging them responsible for the death of a patent, Rajesh Gupta. The mob forcibly entered the hospital and reportedly damaged property in the premises. The irate mob also tried to manhandle the medical superintendent of the hospital. A couple of days back Rajesh Gupta (24) was admitted in the hospital for surgery but during operation the vein of the patient received a cut and he started bleeding. The agitators alleged that the surgeon Dr Raj Rishi Sharma continued to perform the operation for two hors and sensing his condition critical hospital authorities shifted him to GMC where doctors declared that and the patient reached here at a time when hardly time was left to save the life. The agitators said though HoD anesthesia took care of him and tried hard to save him. They said that it should not be considered as death but an accident and demanded government job to her wife. But when contacted, Medical Superintendent of Government Hospital Sarwal said no doctor intends to kill his patient while operating him. He said that the concerned surgeon has already been placed under suspension and a high level committee comprising of one Professor of Surgery of Medical College Jammu and Dy Director Health Services (HQ) Jammu has been constituted. The committee has to submit its report within twenty days, he added. Relatives of the deceased have lodged an FIR with the police post Sarwal, where the court of law will take its own action, he said.
