Doda, June 12: The hailstorm and rain which lashed across chenab valley on wednesday has wreaking havoc in apple and other orchard fruits of several villages in Doda district. Reports said that, In hilly area of Marmat and Dessa in Doda district recieved high intensity of hailstrom and plain recieves moderate rainfall have destroyed almost huge number of fruits trees in dozens of villages. It has caused losses worth lakhs of rupees for fruit growers. The affected areas include Roat, Labbar, Bari, Raccho, Mangota, Behota, Dessa etc.
Rakesh Kalyan a local resident of Roat Marmat said that, the apple orchards which are in early stage have suffered massive damages causing heavy losses to fruit Growers. They said govt should start necessary remedial measure that can be adopted by the effected growers in order to avoid any damages and diseases in the orchards of fruit trees. |
