Wind storm caused severe damage in District Poonch, more than 10 schools got damaged

POONCH, June 12: Several damages have been reported in district Poonch due to the strong wind storm on Tuesday night.
As per the reports the wind storm on tuesday night approximately started at 9:20 which lasted for half an hour during which several houses, trees, crops along with more than 10 schools got damaged.
Among all the tehsils of district Poonch, Mandi bore the maximum loss where many trees and crops got destroyed and the roof of more than 10 school buildings and kitchen sheds along with washrooms coming under zone Mandi reportedly got damaged.
As per the information received Roof of PS Bagan Bedar, MS Sib Loran, MS Dogian, GMS Grangan, PS Chaprian, MS Ganter Sawjian, PS Uripura Gagrian and HS Arai Malkan Kitchen shed of GMS Loran, PS Richanwali Loran has got severely damaged and some are completely destroyed.
Zonal Education Planning Officer Mandi, Mohammad Aslam Kohli said that many of the schools have got damaged due to wind storm. He said that the office has asked the concerned authorities to provide complete details and reports along with photographs so that the same could be forwarded to higher authorities.
The actual report/detail regarding damaged houses along with destroyed trees and crops is not clear yet as the authority could not be approached and as per the sources the review/ survey is still going on in this regard.
Pertinent to mention that a woman namely Shakeela Begum W/O Mohd Ishaq and her Daughter Nazia kouser resident of Arai malkan tehsil Mandi got injured and one buffalo also died.
