JDU for insurance cover to media persons

Acknowledging the tough job being performed by the media personalities across the state, Janta Dal United has urged upon the government to provide insurance cover to them and enhance the compensation up to rupees ten lakh to those killed in encounters.
In a meeting of its office bearers organized here on Sunday, President JDU S. Inder Mohinder Tar Singh said that the conditions under which the journalists perform their duties is praiseworthy and they deserve risk cover keeping in view the prevailing situation in the state.
" Media persons and political workers need to be provided the insurance cover as they work under difficult situations across the state," he said.
The members on the occasion paid tributes to a political leader, Hoshyar Singh and photojournalist Ashok Sodhi who were killed during an encounter at Samba some days back.
Others present on the occasion included S. P Mangotra, Rajinder Sharma, VK Prashar, Daljeet Singh lovely, RS Tyagi and others.
