Kargil martyr Major Ajay Jasrotia remembered
6/15/2019 10:22:57 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, June 15: Handsome tributes were paid to Maj Ajay Singh Jasrotia, SM, 13 JAK RIF martyr of the Kargil War who had laid down his life on 15 Jun to save many of his Comrades. While saving them he lost his life that is called Comradery and that's what keeps us going.
While paying tributes the speakers warned the nation that if Martyrs were not respected the security of the Country will be in Jeopardy. Speakers exhorted the youth to be ready to fight for the Country as the fight is not over yet. While Presiding over the function Maj Gen Goverdhan Singh Jamwal President J&K Ex-Services League, said, 'Ajay's father Arjan Jasrotia was his young Officer in Khem Karan battle while he himself was second in command of Ajay's grandfather Col Khajoor Singh in Nagaland Operations'. Such are the relations between the offices of the Maharaja Gulab Singh's State Forces which has produced great generals like Gen Zorawar Singh, Mehta Baste Ram, Baj Singh and finally Brigadier Rajinder Singh who saved the State so that we could celebrate these Days.
Gen Jamwal highlighted the glorious acts of the martyrs and exhorted the young to emulate the young hero. He recalled the heroic deeds of Maharaja Gulab Singh, General Zorawar Singh and Brigadier Rajinder Singh who conquered Ladakh and Baltistan as well as saved the State from Pakistan aggression during 1947. The General was pained to see the pathetic conditions of Jasrotia Park as well as another Park F/P-4 Named in the Honour of Martyr Sub. Nain Singh, SC. This reflects poorly on all of us. If this is the spirit of neglect for the parks dedicated to Martyrs then where is the nation leading to. He called upon the floriculture dept to maintain both, Park C/P-5 and F/P-4 in Sectors C and F respectively.
Speaking on the occasion Major JS Baloria, Lt Col Charanjeet Singh, Naresh Sharma and Sardar Gurpuran Singh highlighted the glorious acts of the martyrs and exhorted all the residents of the colony to participate in such functions. Padam Singh Choudhary the convener and his team organised the function well which was attended by Prominent Citizens, Retd Army personnel and local Residents. Veena Jasrotia and Dr Rohit Jasrotia mother and brother of the martyr Participated in the function.
