Dogri Teleserial ‘Chatur-Nath-Chatur’ on Jammu Doodrashan

A Dogri Teleserial "Chatur-Nath-Chatur" which is being aired by Doordarshan Kendra Jammu these days every Tuesday at 7.30 p.m, is becoming very popular among the viewers in Jammu region.
"Chatur-Nath-Chatur" is a social satire which aims to reconstruct the structure of civil society fallen prey to social evils and borrowed customs. As a public broadcaster, Doordarshan is committed to produce such programmes which will entertain and simultaneously educate a large section of our evidence to eradicate these evils,
"Chatur-Nath-Chatur" is produced with the same ideology. It is a blend of Humour and satire and penetrates deep into the society through its humorous subtlety.
Essentially, the former director the Kendra Mr. Mahesh Chopra who is an eminent broadcaster himself, had a feeling that Doordarshan Jammu should own large viewer ship as its is premier broadcasting institute and to gain this, Doordarshan should start a weekly soap in local language which will be humorous in nature but satirical in essence.
Shiv Mehta, a doyen of Dogri literature has written the series. He has used a traditional format of this series. These rich traditional motifs have risen as renaissance of Dogri language. Portryal of today's problems in that format isn an artistic and astehetic experientm
The series is directed by Dr Sohan Koul, an eminent director of Doordarshan Kendra who has several popular plays and serials to his credit.
M.K.Gangoo is the cinematographer and sound design is done by Mr Naresh Sharma, Mr Rakesh Billouria, Mr Bal Krishan and edited by Mr Vinod Chirvi.
The play is supported by a very powerful cast including Mr janak Khajuria, Sudhir Jamwal, Jagdish Sagar, Sandesh Vir Dogra, Lalita Tapsavi and others.
The music is done by Mr. Arvind Kumar. The serial has been shot at various locales in Jammu including rural locales.
