| Div Com reviews President’s visit arrangements | | | Early Times Reporter

Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Mr Sudhanshu Pandey today reviewed the arrangements for the visit of President of India, Mrs Pratibha Patil to Jammu and Kashmir.
It was informed that Mrs Pratibha Patil will visit Bhaderwah University on 25th May, 2008 to inaugurate the newly created campus of university. Thereafter, on 26th May, 2008 during the evening second convocation of SKUAST Jammu will be held at Jorawar Singh Auditorium, Jammu University where President will be chief guest alongwith other dignitaries like Governor Lt Gen (Retd), Mr S.K Sinha and Chief Minister, Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad. Deputy Chairman Planning Commission, S. Montek Singh Alluwalia and Dr A.N Chowdhary are also joining the President during the visit.
In the meeting, Mr Pandey termed the visit of President as historical as for the first time after Independence a Lady president will be inaugurating a University Campus He asked all sectoral heads to make elaborate arrangements for making visit of President a success. Director School Education, Mr. A.K Raina was asked to make extensive arrangements for carrying more than 5000 school children participating in the inaugural function, to the venue and also arrange refreshment for them.
Chief Engineer PHE was asked to install barricading at the site and make adequate provision of safe drinking water. Chief Engineer PDD would ensure regular power supply while Joint Director Protocol would make all arrangements of furniture etc.
Among others, Vice Chancellor SKUAST, IGP Jammu, Mr K. Rajindra, DIG, SSP City, SSP Doda, SSP Traffic and other senior officers from Health, Municipality, Jammu University also attended the meeting. |
