| High level security for President’s visit | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 18 Fool-proof security will be in place for President Pratibha Patil’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir next week, officials here said. Security drills will start from Monday all across the state, especially in the twin- capital cities of Jammu and Srinagar, for the visit of the President- Patil’s first visit to the state since assuming office. During the five-day visit commencing from May 23, Patil will also visit Tangdhar, a border town in the Kashmir Valley, where she will address the troops. She will also inaugurate the Kashmir Study Centre at Kashmir University as also the newly-built extension campus of the Jammu University in Bhaderwah in Jammu region Security concerns in Jammu and Kashmir have heightened because of recent incidents of terrorist violence in the border town of Samba, 45 kms south west of Jammu, where last Sunday terrorists killed six people, including two soldiers and a photo-journalist. |
