| ‘Coalition govt resolved to bring peace in J&K’ | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 19 The Congress-PDP government is determined to usher-in an era of peace and economic prosperity in the state, Jammu and Kashmir Public Health Engineering Minister Mohammad Dilawar Mir said on Monday. Mir, addressing a public meeting after inaugurating a regional water supply scheme in Baramulla district, called upon the people to extend their support to the coalition government for bringing-in lasting peace in the region. "Peace is imperative to usher-in an era of economic prosperity in the state", he said after the inauguration of the Rs 11.50 crore-project, designed to provide potable water facilities in 29 villages of Kreeri area in the district. "The coalition government is determined to bring peace and economic prosperity in the state", Mir said. The minister also laid the foundation stone of another water supply scheme, 'Dolipora-Fresthaar', to be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 4.50 crore in next two years and designed to provide drinking water in seven villages. Mir also laid the foundation of modernization of Babul canal project aimed at providing irrigation to about 7600 acres of land annually in the vicinity of Kreeri area. He also announced a separate drinking water supply scheme for four villages of Tapper, to be built at an estimated cost of Rs 97 lakhs. |
