| PDP leader demands more CBMs | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 19 Senior Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader and president Jammu Shia Federation Ashiq Hussain Khan has urged both India and Pakistan to agree on more Kashmir centric Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) including increasing the frequency of Srinagar-Muzafarabad and Poonch-Rawlakote bus services. In a press statement, here today, Khan said that the ongoing dialogue process between the two neighbouring countries was going in the right direction and it was need of the hour that more CBMs be announced so as to won over the hearts of common masses in Jammu and Kashmir. All eyes will be on the two countries, when foreign secretary level talks will resume in Islamabad tomorrow, he said adding, it is expected that the two countries will take some important decisions including the much awaited launch of more cross-LoC bus services and early operationalisation of the truck service. "The new government in Pakistan has already shown an interest in resolving all bilateral issues including Kashmir and it was right opportunity when India responses positively", the PDP leader said. He urged the External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee to press for increasing the frequency of bus services so that more people can come and go across the border. He said that trade links on the two sides of border was another important issue, which need to be deliberated upon by the two sides. The coalition government in the state has made all efforts to restore peace and normalcy in the state of Jammu and Kashmir and it was the right opportunity when the peace efforts get boost from the two countries, he said. Khan hoped that the secretary level talks between the two sides, which will be held on Tuesday, will be boost the confidence of peace loving citizens and at the same time it will also help in building a relationship of confidence and trust between India and Pakistan. |
