| Amidst protest and allegations NSUI releases new list of members | | | Early Times Reproter Jammu | May 19 A high drama was today witnessed at the press conference of National Student Union of India, where many student leaders raised objection on the list released by the national vice-president Prathibha Raghuvanshi. It all started when Prathibha released the new list of NSUI members, some activists stood up and raised objections. The student leaders including Sandeep Sandy, Bezad Ali, Varun Magotra, Shahnawaz Choudhary and Pankaj Basotra asked Prathiba not to release the list. They also demanded to consult the state president Rajeev Saraf before releasing the same. But Prathibha went ahead and said there was no need of consulting the state president who is at Katra to offer a special pooja. This did not pacify the agitating student leaders who continued protest inside press club and went away raising slogans in favor of Saraf. Later, Rajeev Saraf, state president, while talking to media persons, said that he did not give consent to the new list as he was not consulted on this. He further said that being a state president of the organization it is imperative to consult him on releasing the new list and added. He was not at Katra as was said by the national vice president. The new list will only be framed with the consultation of national president Nadeem Javed and Rahul Gandhi, when latter will visit the state to conduct a talent show. Earlier, addressing the media national vice president (NSUI) Prathibha Raghuvanshi said that student body will be revamped in the state and added that central leadership is keen to integrate the energies of the students from all the three regions of the state for strengthening the foundation of the student body and also stressed for the formation of anti-ragging cell at national level and state level against the ragging in educational institutions. |
