| Only congress capable to resolve all issues: Vakil | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 19 Social welfare minister Mr. Abdul Gani Vakil monday said that in a serious bid to restore sanctity of politics, government has strengthened anti defection act to prevent horse trading and changing loyalties. “This legislation has virtually darkened political career of those unscrupulous politicians whose sole aim of joining politics was aggrandizement at the cost of public exchequer”, he added. Addressing a public meeting at watergam in Rafiaabad, the minister said that politics was a sacred profession for an upright individual. “The motto of politicians joining it should be service to public and nations at large like Legendry statesman Gandhi, Nehru and Abdul Kalam Azad”. Appealing people to support congress party wholeheartedly, Mr. Vakil said that it was in the interest of state and its people, If the party form government by absolute majority .The congress government , he pledged would strive to achieve new heights in progress and development besides tackling unemployment problem for good , adding the party alone has such chance in view of its popularity in all three regions of the state. Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad was keenly pursuing for bringing orchardists of the state under farm loan-waiver , Vakil said while disclosing his programme of reviving fruit industries on modern lines in Jammu and Kashmir. He said it was unfortunate that only a section of fruit growers was benefiting under technology mission programme and assured to put an end to system of pick and choose. The Minister reiterated resolve of government to ensure employment of deserving youth under innovative system of fast track and in this regard referred to 16,000 vacancies referred to SSRB. He said the recruitment board has been made a vibrant institution by equipping it with full man power to carry out the task expeditiously. Among others, MLC Mr. Mohammad. Amin Bhat, Senior Congress leader Dr.Abdul Ahad Yatoo and Mohd. Iqbal Jan were present on the occasion. |
