Border residents are again spending sleepless nights

Thousands of border residents are spending sleepless nights following three back to back incidents of firing from across the line of control and international border by Pakistan with in a gap of ten days.
The spectra of temporary migration from our villages is again haunting us following these incidents, large number of residents in Pallanwala sector said.
The area has been targeted by the Pak army during border skirmishes with India.
Haracharan Singh, a local farmer in the area said, during Kargil war I had shifted my family to Akhnoor and returned after about 7 months. Now after remaining silent for over five years the border is once again hotting up,he feared.
He said, my children have been asking me where will we go in the event of high tension in the area. I am finding it difficult to respond to their queries.
The situation is no different in RS Pura and Samba sector as well.The farmers are again showing signs of concern .Following ceaseire agreement we were reaping rich harvest but now the firing from across the border and line of control is again disturbing us rasing security concerns.
Shyam Lal, a local farmer in Pallanwala said, We were awaiting compensation and now we are again hearing news of border tension.
Gharu Ram a local farm worker in Suchetgarh said,” We are spending restless nights following three incidents of cross border firing. The elderly in the area are wise enough to read the pattern of firing from across the border.Raghubir Singh and ex service man said, the enemy is gradually warming up and provoking Indian army to retaliate the fire.Singh said, starting with Samba, Tanghdhar and Mendhar I think it is the turn of Pallanwala and Nowshera sector and there is need to maintain extra vigil. Students too are worried lot in the border areas. Rahul a class 10 student said for over five years they were not facing any problems and visiting school daily.He said once border tension will start the schools would be occupied by the migrants and there would be no place for them to study.He said it is difficult to study when surroundings are not peaceful.Praying with folded hands he said we sincerely hope that situation does not go out of hands and better sense prevails.
