| SOG Jammu recovered 400 kg of Poppy Straw | | |
Jammu, June 26: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Special Operations Group of J&K Police along with sleuths of Police Post Narwal achieved a major success by recovering huge quantity of Poppy Straw which was being illegally smuggled in a truck bearing number JK18 -4571 under the jurisdiction of Police Post Narwal of district Jammu this evening.
The accused driver who was smuggling the contraband drugs in the truck has been identified as Aiyaz Ahmed Lone S/o Farooq Ahmed Lone R/o Pantha Chowk Srinagar and Jahangir Ahmed S/o Mohd Hatam R/o Pulwama.
Reports revealed that, a special naka was laid jointly be SOG Jammu and Police Party of PP Narwal at Narwal and checking / frisking was intensified. During the process of checking, one truck bearing number JK18 -4571 was put to thorough checking. During search of the truck 400 kilograms of Poppy Straw which was concealed in bags inside the truck was recovered.
In this regard a Case FIR No. 190/19 U/s 8/15/29 NDPS Act stands registered at PS Trikuta Nagar. |
