Former IGP' delivers extension lecture

The Centre for Adult and Continuing Education and Extension, University of Jammu, under the Extension Lecture Series, today organized a lecture on "Me, Society, Nation and My World" in the Seminar hall of Centre for Adult, Continuing Education and Extension.
The key speaker of the today's lecture was S S Bijral former IGP. The discussion was presided over by Director, Centre for Adult Continuing Education and Extension (CACE&E) Prof. Poonam Dhawan.
Bijral spoke about the importance of being aware. Awareness, he said, is bliss and ignorance is curse.
"To be aware, we need to be alert, but for being alert we need to put an effort, and for being aware we need no effort and we are more relaxed, and for being aware we need to have interest and zeal, because if we are interested then only we can memorize and we can work with full dedication," said the former Inspector General of Police.
He was also of the view that professionalism and dedication is vanishing, reasons cited were frustration, favoritism etc. He said that identity is professionalism; boundaries that he sees are 'Me'. He said problem is because of "Me" and answer also lies with in me, therefore there is a need to bring change in ourselves.
He further added that many people got stuck in their lives as they are not aware of what they are suppose to do, and our actual awareness lies within ourselves, as if we are aware we, we are more linked to our self and are in direct connection with divinity.
Bijral linked his lecture to the present status of India where he cited few of the figure of Indian Scenario, as poor are getting poor and richer are getting rich.
He further said that the irony of the present time is that then youth are unaware and unemployed, and there is unfearing track record of not solving terror attack across India, and all this is result of immoral relationships, nexus and political and economic front, dedication is vanishing day by day and he concluded that all the problem are because of 'ME', the self.
In the discussion Dr Kavita Suri, Gauhar Fani, Ghulam Mohd. Choudhary and others put forth different questions related to the theme.
The others who were present and participated were Dr Renu Nanda, Assistant Director, CACE&E, Dr. Kavita Suri, Assistant Director, CACE&E. Dr. Priyanka Katoch, . Vibhuti Ubbot, Shevata, Pallavi Sachdeva, Vivek, Sharma, Sadaf, Sita Anand, Nazia Hassan, . Rewa Khajuria.
Dr. Bharti Prabhakar, Project Officer, CACE&E, presented the Welcome Address. Sandeep Singh Project Officer presented the Vote of Thanks.
