Advisor Sharma visits Bani, gets first hand account of peoples' grievances

SRINAGAR, July 2: Continuing with his outreach programme of visiting far-flung areas to effectively get a feedback of the various developmental activities in the State, Governor's Advisor KK Sharma today visited Bani area of district Kathua and met many deputations from the area.
The Advisor also conducted a public grievance redressal camp which was attended by scores of deputations from different areas of the hilly district who projected several demands related to PDD, PHE, Health, Tourism and R&B.
The deputation led by former legislator Jeevan Lal also called on the Advisor and projected several demands related to their area including undertaking several link roads in Bani constituency under NABARD, State plan and District plan.
The demands projected by several deputations in Bani included notifying Bani Town as Municipal Committee, exploring the possibility of having two new hydroelectric projects-one each on Sewa and Khad nallah, creation of sub-division at Bani for proper monitoring and execution works, pending salaries of PHE daily wagers for the past 55 months, payment of houses constructed under PMAY/IAY, slow progress of Bani-Basholi road, power issues, demand for transformer repair workshop, PDD sub-division for Bani, establishing viewpoints at identified places for exploring tourist potential of the area, mini-stadium, market intervention for selling agri and horti produce and other issues.
The Advisor directed the officers to work in close coordination with the people of the area so that their specific demands and problems are resolved within given minimum time frame.
The Advisor directed the officers of R&B to undertake the necessary measures to ensure that the problem of Bani-Bilawar road connectivity issue gets resolved in time so that frequent road blockade issue is resolved. Earlier, the Advisor held a review meeting at TRC, Bani which was attended by senior officers.
