Saying that Vigilance Organization is a key in ensuring transparency and accountability in government departments, the state Vigilance Commissioner Dr Ashok Bhan has expressed his optimism that continuous supervision and monitoring by the senior officers would go a long way in preventing loss to the state exchequer. Interacting with senior officers of the district administration at Leh today, the Vigilance Commissioner said that focus of the discussion was on the improvement of internal vigilance in various Government departments in far-flung areas like Leh and Kargil. He emphasized the need for transparency in purchases and execution of government works. He said that continuous supervision and monitoring by the senior officers will go a long way in preventing loss to the state exchequer and ensure that the benefits of the development reach the masses. During the interaction there was a question answer session in which various officers of the local administration made certain relevant queries on internal vigilance for clarification and advice from the COV. M.K Bandhari, District Development Commissioner, Leh also addressed the gathering and assured the COV that the district administration will leave no stone unturned in providing an efficient, clean and transparent administration to the people of Ladakh. The Vigilance Commissioner was accompanied by Ghulam Hassan Bhat, SSP Vigilance (I/C of Srinagar, Ganderbal, Leh and Kargil districts) and T. Namgyal, AIG (Policy).
