| SC, ST Confederation resumes agitation against SRO 294 | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 21
All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organizations have resumed its agitation from today in support their demand of modifying the controversial SROI 294 of 2005. The Confederation had earlier suspended its prolonged agitation following assurance by the Chief Minister in January last that the SRO would be modified soon and there was no need for any agitation or demonstration. Addressing media persons here today the Confederation President R K Kalsotra said that since the government has not kept its promise, the confederation is forced to go in for another spell of agitation with immediate affect. Kalsotra said although the Ordinance was issued by the government on March 5 this year yet the modified SRO 294 has not been issued even after a lapse of two months. Roshan Din Choudhary vice president of the Confederation expressed concern over the discriminatory attitude of the political representatives towards the members of the community . He said the confederation has decided to mobilize its cadre for a mass protest march towards of the official residence of Chief Minister on May 28.
