| JURSEA for streamlining of PSC, SSRB functioning | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 21
Expressing dissatisfaction over the functioning of PSC/SSRB, Jammu University Research Scholars Executive Association (JURSEA) today demanded reformation in the existing recruitment policy of the twin recruitment agencies.. Addressing a press conference here in the university campus on Wednesday, JURSEA president Vikas Sharma lambasted the recruitment agencies of state for its failure to conduct the tests of different posts. Coming down heavily on SSRB for its failure of conducting Naib Tehsildar test once again on scheduled time, he said that the repeated postponement of test has put a question mark over the working of the Board. Demanding streamlining in the recruitment process, he insisted that SSRB should provide point system keeping in view of the qualification while fulfilling the posts, adding that JURSEA demanded 15 points for M Phil and 20 points for PhD degree holders instead of the present points of 3 to M Phil and 5 to PhD. Angry over the attitude of the government authorities for ignoring their demands, Vikas Sharma stated that JURSEA has decided to hold a protest from 23 May to 25 May followed by a bandh call on 26 May in the Campus to lodge their resentment. JURSEA is demanding stipend for PhD holders, concession in travel by various means of transport for Scholars attending seminars/ conferences, opening of railway reservation counter in the campus and early declaration of Patwari's list of the Jammu district, he further said. Not satisfied with the working of another recruitment body Public Service Commission (PSC), president JURSEA demanded that PSC should work on the pattern of Union Public Service Commission and advertise posts regularly with out wasting the precious time of youths in the state. He further demanded regular advertisement for KAS and various other posts by the PSC while criticizing the body for its irresponsible approach of advertising the posts not on regular basis. General Secretary Jursea, Rajneesh Kumar said that SSRB should hold a common entrance test for filling up the posts to show transparency in the recruitment process. Others attended the press conference included Kamal Deep Singh, Irfain Qurshi and Sarwan Singh Baloria.
