A joint meeting of Jammu Paryatan Vikas Mandal, All Jammu Hotels and lodges Association, Shopkeepers Association General Bus Stand Jammu and Jammu Tourist Trades Employees Federation held here today under the chairmanship of Inderjeet Khajuria, President All Jammu Hotels and Lodges Association, expressed serious concern over inordinate delay being caused in upgradation the bus stand. The bus stand which gives first impression to the visitors about the healthy environs of the city, is in a deplorable condition, with its general cleanliness and sanitation totally neglected, giving foul smell. The run way and yard are in dilapidated condition with ditches and water logging here and there causing good deal of inconvenience to the passengers as well as to the operators of the vehicles, the participants at the meeting felt. Unauthorized make shift workshops have come up in the yard with various unscrupulous elements having encroached upon the bus stand premises, the tourists related organizations observed. The meeting further demanded that the alternative bus stand having come up at railway station Jammu unauthorizedly, should be lifted and the buses should not be allowed to pick up passengers for Katra or Srinagar. Others who attended the meeting included Kuldeep Vahi, president JPVM, Raskesh Abrol and Ashwani Sharma, Chairman and President respectively of Shopkeeper Association General Bus Stand Jammu, Pawan Gupta, Presdient Hari market traders association and Mahesh Padha, President Jammu tourists trades employees federation.
