| Gurvinder of Ludhiana bags Nelay Kesari title | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 21
Ludhiana wrestler, Gurvinder Singh today clinched the 9th annual Nelay Kesari dangal defeating equally good Succha of Taran Taran in Punjab in the main bout at Searly near holy town of Katra. President, J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma was chief guest in this dangal, who gave away cash prizes to the winners and runners-up of main bouts. In all, 41 bouts took play in this dangal which was organized by Nelay Dangal Committee under the aegis of J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association. Earlier, the second main bout was won by Raju of Kapurthala in Punjab beating Anuj Kumar of Delhi. Pahalwan Verra of Kapurthalla defeated Hira of Amritsar to bag the third main bout. Fourth bout was won by Sukhwant of Amritsar beating Harsh of Jallandhar. Other results: Liaqat Ali bt Bagh; Kulbir Singh bt Joginder; Bitu bt Ravinder; Karnail Sing bt Arjun Singh; Kulwant Singh bt Bir Singh; Raju bt Subash; Angrej Singh bt Nishat Ali; Kulbir Singh bt Inderjeet; Shinda bt Kuldeep Singh; Sarwan bt Ajit Singh; Bir Singh bt Daljit; Sukhwant bt Shinda. Bouts between Thirthu and Hoshiar and Ajit and Swarn Singh ended in draw. Members of the organizing and technical committee, who helped in the successful conduct of dangal were Kuldeep Kumar Sanmotra, Ramesh Chander, Vijay Kumar Sanmotra, Radha Krishan, Pappu Lakri, Laxman Singh Katoch, Nasib Chand and Pinku Sharma.
