| JKSSF demands recognition of Sanskrit Language | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu | May 22 Alleging step-motherly treatment is done with the Sanskrit by the Education administration and state government, Jammu and Kashmir Sanskrit Students Front (JKSSF) today demanded from the state government to give Sanskrit language due place and recognition to the one of the ‘Oriental Language of the world’ in state. Addressing press conference here today, Paras Shastri, president of the Front has expressed its concern on the bleak future of Sanskrit language in Jammu Kashmir and demanded recognition and promotion for the Sanskrit in the state. He said that despite the known fact that Sanskrit is root language of all oriental languages conversed all across the India yet it faced neglect from the successive governments in the state. Shastri claimed that this language being the medium of the religious epics and other religious books will create spiritual and honest feeling among readers as per the sono-graphy (the science of sounds). ‘Sanskrit offers a soothing and holistic touch but it has been neglected for the years in the state and thus it is urged to state government to give it its due place, speaker stressed. Highlighting the demand, he said that we demanded to give Sanskrit high state among all the fraternal languages and inclusion of Sanskrit languages in 6th standard, opening of Sanskrit academy in the state, Sanskrit students have given the preference to the Ayurvedic College and Ayurvedic Research Institutes etc. Shastri informed that we have already submitted number of memorandum to Chief Minister and Governor of the state time to time but they took no step for solving our demands He appealed CM and Governor to take this issue serious and provide high status to Sanskrit languages. |
