| 5 day excursion of Veer Naris conclude | | | Early Times Reporter Udhampur | May 22 A 5-day tour of Kashmir Valley of the of the widows and mothers of those brave soldiers, who laid down their lives for the country during various military operations, was organized under the aegis of Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) Northern Command. Twenty six Veer Naris accompanied by Lt Dipali of the ASC Bn were taken to Parimahal, Shalimar Garden and the Dal Lake. At Gulmarg, they experienced a ride on the Gandola Cable Car and also enjoyed a days outing at scenic tourist spot Pahalgam. The Army units en-route provided all administrative support to the visiting team. The excursion team which was flagged off from Udhampur on May 15 and returned on May 20. They were received by Mrs Deepa Bhardwaj, President, AWWA, Northern Command. The Veer Naris shared their experiences and expressed their gratitude to the armed forces for remembering them. A trip to Delhi and Agra has also been planned for the Veer Naris. |
