| PDP for formulating comprehensive plan to combat road accidents | | | Early Times Reporter

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed its serious concern over the frequent road accidents which claim more lives than caused due to violence.
A party spokesman while stressing on formulation of a realistic plan to combat accidents, said that once approved, the plan should be implemented in letter and spirit.
The spokesman also stressed the need for coordination between various organizations to curb the frequency of road accidents in the State. He added awareness programmes including seminars and interactions between different sections of society should be facilitated for the safety of people. "First-aid centers equipped with ambulances and wireless communication network right from Pathankot to Uri for responding to the needs of accident should be made available," the spokesman added.
He further called for a multidimensional approach by various agencies like Public Works, Transport, Traffic Health and Police to reduce the number of road accidents. |
